Quadband Anit-Polution 2" Filter

The Antlia Quad Band Anti-Light Pollution filter is a unique light suppression filter for colour cameras. Its spectral transmission passes through the visible light region as well as the near-ultraviolet and near-infrared ends of the spectrum.

The Quad Band filter can be used to capture broadband and narrowband targets such as galaxies, reflection and emission nebulae and star clusters from locations with heavy light pollution. The wide bandpasses make it suitable for optics as fast as f/2.

Certain broadband targets such as M51 and M83 possess significant signal in the near-infrared (NIR) region, which are often difficult to capture using standard light pollution filters that cut off the ends of the spectrum. As modern CMOS cameras are very sensitive to these wavelengths and there tends to be less artificial light pollution in this region, the Quad Band filter features high NIR transmission.

Like all Antlia filters, the Quad Band filter has excellent halo suppression, making imaging of targets surrounded by bright stars such as the Horsehead Nebula pain-free

Note: The Quad Band filter passes light in the near-UV and near-IR, so we do not recommended this filter for fast refractors as lateral chromatic aberration will be visible. This is also true for apochromatic refractors.
